New beginnings...

New beginnings...

Hello!

I know that right now, I'm writing to nobody but myself. I'd like to think that I'm not going mad either! In a year or two, if people start to browse my ramblings, this will be amusing to look back on as my first ever blog post.

I've been slowly mustering up the courage to create my own website and publish this first post. Having a personal website and somewhere to channel my thoughts, ideas and learnings has been on my to-do list for a few years and I've finally done it! I'm proud of myself, even if nobody else is.

As I sit here typing, I've been wondering... What should I write about? My background? Something to catch the readers attention? What if nobody likes this or I get negative comments?

It suddenly dawned on me that none of that matters, the most important thing is to write something, and hit publish! So that's what I'm going to do. Every week, I will post something. It will more than likely be a collection of thoughts or something I've learned that I feel will benefit at least one other person. There's quite a lot of junk inside my head that I'm sure will be of value to someone. As they say... "One man's rubbish is another man's treasure!"

This week, I think I'll just start by thanking one of the influencers I follow that inspired me to take action and actually create this website, Ali Abdaal. I've followed Ali for many years now (Since early 2019) and I've found his story fascinating. He's far more educated than I will ever be, having studied medicine and been a doctor, now turned entrepreneur with a media empire and multiple businesses. His story resonates with me in a loose way which inspired me to give self development more credit and priority. Where I'll be in 1, 2 or 5 years I don't know yet, but I know that Ali will have guided me in some way. So thank you, Ali.

Speak soon,

Rory
